St David's, Pembrokeshire 2018 21 April (4pm) - 28 April (midday)
This is an uninterrupted time for primary research of the spectacular landscape of St David's Peninsula, gathering material for later work in the year. we shall be experimenting with your intake reactions to landscape and the intellectual response. Particular focus is on the experience of this landscape through feeling and its form.
We have a dedicated studio and lecture room in the Graham Sutherland Landscape Gallery
The field trip is a great opportunity to gather material and ideas and meet other students studying this course.
Every day at 9.30am, there are introductory talks on painting ideas and working processes. Practical sessions and individual tutorials are held throughout the res of the day. Students will be able to work in the stunning landscape and seascapes very close to St David's. You will be expected to produce a group of paintings and drawings that can later form a basis of research for work.
